Hi everyone
Today marks the last day for season 25-26. All skiers have a well earned summer holiday ahead which should include lots of fun, relaxation, family time etc., not to forget the old saying - alpine skiers are made in the summer. This means that all the while holidays are rolling, training should be done multiple times per week. Each skier have their own ways of spending the summer, either at home, cottages, on the road or abroad. There are always ways to find time and places for training - the lack of gym or a sportsfield does not mean that training can be put aside. Any ground works for core and balance training, any road is good for running, cycling and rollerskating, and any lake, seashore or swimming hall is the place for swimming.
The better we train, the more capabilities we grow. With capabilites we build confidence and selftrust that implies directly into skiing and dryland training. The more fun we can make of it (fun does not mean it can't be tough), the more we learn to like training and then the more often we will do it automatically. Training should almost always spark a light, motivation and purpose. The skillset for knowing what to train and how train is done via our clubs drylands or other sports that many of you have. Use that skill and knowledge to build a fun, challenging and improving summer.
During the summer, I once again urge you all to sign-up for next seasons groups. The signups can be found from myclub and our homepage helsinkiskiclub.fi. Licenses should also be purchased before joining the trainings so make sure that you have a valid license. A newsletter regarding these have been sent out earlier in June. Look for our clubs newsletters from myclub for further information.
Coaches are on holidays until August. In urgent matters, send email to the groups coaches or Jonne directly. I will not be available daily, but may look email from time to time.
I wish you all a pleasant summer!
Best Regards
Jonne & Coaches
